The average annual rainfall for the area is approximately 3084 mm.  The catchment area at the point from which water is extracted is approximately 380 hectares and, based on stream gauging data for Currumbin Creek supplied by Department of Natural Resources, it is estimated that the Mean Annual Discharge at this point is about 200 Megalitres per annum.
