2.   Spend In A Flash

Regardless that you shoot in natural light, it is a good idea to invest in an off-camera flash. As a beginner wedding photographer, it is highly recommended.  The camera’s flash on its own will not be enough to perfectly capture every precious moment. When you take a picture of the bride and groom with their radiant smile, you will see the difference an off-camera flash will make in your photos. You can easily get some amazing off-camera flashes at a good price.

3.   Be Equipped With Extras

As a beginner wedding photographer, it is highly recommended you keep extra batteries, spare memory cards, a range of lenses just in case you may need them. You should be prepared for the worst. Make it a point to back up your wedding photos when you take a small break. In case if things go wrong, you have a backup plan.

4.   Request You Be Provided With A Shot List

Make sure that you get a shot list from the bride and groom. this way, you will know the friends and relatives that you must get photos of. After all, you would not want to miss taking a shot of the bride’s grandma and her pearly white smile after her visit to the dentist in Miranda as she enjoys her granddaughter’s wedding day.

5.   Wear Comfortable Shoes

On your wedding shoot, you will be walking around a ton. It is important that you wear comfortable, at the same time, stylish shoes so that you work your absolute best. If you have pain in your feet, you will stay distracted and will not be able to shoot to the best of your ability.

6.   Pack water and snacks

One advice you will get from veteran wedding photographers is that you should pack water and snacks to take along with you on your wedding shoot. You will be shooting the entire day so you need to keep something with you. Some couples may offer you food, but you should be prepared just in case you are not offered a seat.
